Women in Math 2025
KU celebrates this year the 150th anniversary of women being granted the opportunity to study at the university (https://kvinder150.ku.dk/). To mark this milestone, the mathematics department is hosting an event highlighting female master’s students in the mathematical sciences.
This event also forms part of the annual May 12 celebration, an international day dedicated to celebrating women in mathematics (https://may12.womeninmaths.org/).
Plan for the afternoon:
15:30-15:35: Welcome
15:35-16:05: Talk by Toke Knudsen (Professor at SUNY Oneonta). Thyra Eibe: Educator, Scholar, Translator of Euclid
16:10-17:10: Short talks from master's students presenting their master's thesis:
- Victoria Sarah Snow: "Algebras associated with nonlocal games"
- Nadja Enggaard Lausen: "Quantum correlations, factorizable channels and infinite-dimensional phenomena in QIT"
- Marie Stuhr Kaltoft: "Bounds on positive solutions of polynomial systems"
- Clara Rosengaard Groth: "A Bayesian Perspective on Causal Inference"
- Katinka Soffi Svensen: "Estimating Arbitrage-free Yield Curves using Autoencoders"
17:15-17:50: Round table. Moderators: Garbiñe Cid Ruiz and Cecilie Olesen Recke.
17:50- : Refreshments and pizza
